The 2023 PlayStation Blog reveal says Phantom Blade Zero unfolds in a semi-open world. S-GAME’s stated preference is multiple handcrafted maps with diverse activities rather than a single huge map filled with reused assets.

Hands-on coverage later described branching paths, shortcuts, backtracking, and progression gates tied to secondary weapons.

A complete map page should eventually show route layers: main path, optional branch, shortcut back to a checkpoint, locked route, and tool-gated route. Because the current public material is pre-release, this page records structure instead of drawing a fake map.

The screenshot used here is a public PlayStation Blog environment still showing an indoor arena-like space, suitable for explaining handcrafted spaces and encounter rooms.
