Release window strategy

Liang said late August to early September is a peak PC growth window, helped by back-to-school hardware upgrades. He added that locking in early September helps avoid head-to-head marketing clashes with mega-releases like GTA.

66-day motif and wuxia expression

The date also ties to Phantom Blade Zero's 66-day narrative motif, aiming to create a symbolic link between the calendar and the story. Liang described the studio's approach as turning traditional wuxia ideas into modern, global-ready action design, with craft informed by decades of Hong Kong choreography.

Lion-dance boss and side-quest focus

He highlighted the lion-dance boss as a cultural showcase, blending traditional weapons with punk-styled elements like chainsaws and flamethrowers while balancing agility and strategy. Liang also said standout trailer characters such as the seven-star sword master are tied to side quests, which the team treats as a playground for creative experimentation and richer NPC stories.

Liang acknowledged gaps between domestic teams and established AAA studios on deep-tech polish, noting issues like sliding and clipping as real production challenges. His view is to prioritize cohesion and atmosphere while continuing to improve core technical quality.
