Phantom Blade Zero plans to trim content after lessons from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
After TGA, producer Liang Qiwei said the most valuable advice from Sandfall was to cut late and polish the core, not to cram in everything.
MSN reports that Phantom Blade Zero producer Liang Qiwei shared lessons from a post‑TGA exchange with Sandfall Interactive, the team behind Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

“Don’t do everything at once”
Liang says the most valuable advice was unexpectedly simple: do not try to ship every idea. Sandfall reportedly spent months in the final stretch cutting game elements to focus on what really works, and he summarized the takeaway as “keep cutting and polishing what remains.”

Applying the rule to Phantom Blade Zero
The same principle will guide Phantom Blade Zero, a wuxia action RPG targeting a September 2026 release. Liang says external expectations can become motivation, and the team plans to use “no‑regret cuts” to make the final experience tighter and more focused.
